For those who attended the Region 2 conference in 2006, get ready for another great experience with new attractions and ways to stay busy! Having already heard from our co-chairs, there is plenty of exciting news surrounding the conference itself. As you share, learn, and connect with colleagues from our region, make sure you remember to take advantage of everything Lancaster, PA has to offer!
First
off, don’t forget to book your stay with the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square. Located in
Downtown Lancaster, staying at this luxury hotel will keep you comfortable
while also placing you in the heart of our host city. Please visit the
“Conference: Travel & Lodging” link above for information on the NACADA
block code.
If
you happen to find some free time around the conference schedule, Lancaster’s Central Market is
our country’s oldest continuously operating Farmer’s Market. Whether it’s
coffee and a donut, vegetables, fresh meats, sandwiches or treats, the market
has it all! Become a part of Lancaster’s culture and “Meet and the Market”. The
market is only open Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, but the fresh baked goods
are worth the wait!

Interested in the theatre? Performances of Young Frankenstein: The new Mel Brooks Musical (a musical comedy adaptation from original Mel Brooks film, Young Frankenstein) will be on display at the Fulton Theatre located in downtown Lancaster. Evening shows will be performed each night from March 18th through March 22nd.
While
at the conference, we intend on keeping you socially engaged as well! If you
are on Twitter, use the hashtag #NACADAR2 to talk about what you are doing and
sessions that you are captivated by. Please also join the NACADA Region 2
Facebook group for more information and interaction with your fellow members.
For those of you who cannot make it to Lancaster, we plan to live stream one
session during each block of concurrent sessions, so stay tuned!
Additional
information on events, group dinners, and more fun will be posted on this blog as
we move closer to the conference. Make sure to stay up to date by subscribing
to new posts on the left-hand column of the main blog page. We should have no
problem staying entertained over our three days in Lancaster!
