Am I the only one who sees conferences
as more than professional events? Come on! Don't tell me I'm alone. I love
traveling. I love meeting new people. I love exploring the frontiers of this
world and what better opportunity to do it than conferences. I can travel alone.
I can travel with a colleague. When I like them enough, I can bring a family
member (truth is, it's all based on their availability). Nonetheless,
conferences should be more than the professional opportunity to learn something
new as an academic advisor, share best practices, network or take a break from
"in office" work, it should allow you to explore the area you are visiting.
Whether or not this is your first time in the Washington, DC Metro Area, you are
in for a treat. The 2016 NACADA Planning Committee is working hard to prepare
for your arrival and we'd like to know how we can curate some local
opportunities our colleagues for the 2016 Regional Conference. Take our 3 minute
poll to let us know if we can set up some outings to introduce you, or
reintroduce, you to our Nations Capital. Responses sought by February 10, 2016.
