2018 Dover Conference Wrap-up

Many, many thanks to all who joined us in Dover for the 2018 Region 2 Conference. We hope your travels home were safe and easy and that your return to work has not been too hectic. Congratulations to our co-chairs, Sherri and Nina, and the entire conference committee on a fantastic conference!

Presenters: You received an email from Moira Curtis on Monday afternoon (3/26) with a link to post your presentation materials. Please post your materials by this Thursday.

Attendees: The link for access to presentation materials will be shared with you this Friday!

The overall conference evaluation from the Executive Office should be going out soon, so keep an eye on your email.

Congratulations to Liz Sutton, University of Pennsylvania, for being selected as the 2018 Best of Region 2. Don't miss Liz's presentation, "Positive Responses to Stress: Increasing Advisor Wellness Through Mindfulness and Yoga" at the 2018 Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, September 30 - October 3.

Here are a few of our conference highlights:
  • 20+ pairs of mentors and mentees met for the first time as part of the Region 2 mentoring program - thanks to Jon and Gavin for their incredible effort in the #nomenteeleftbehind initiative!
  • We raised $227 for the Seaford Community Food Bank & donated more than 40lbs of non-perishable items.
  • Bingo, led by incoming site selection coordinator Andrew Millin, was a huge hit with an enthusiastic group!
  • While our horse didn’t get to race due to the snow, our NACADA horse blanket has been
    donated! (Photos to come)
Special thanks to the incredibly hospitable staff at Dover Downs who helped us through the unexpected snow storm. The hotel had staff spend the night to insure they would be able to staff our conference, and they arranged for a musician on Wednesday night to make sure we were entertained, which isn't standard practice.

We hope you'll join us next year in Atlantic City, New Jersey, March 13-15, 2019! If you're interested in helping out, contact Beth Rey and Bob Bullard, 2019 Region 2 Conference Co-chairs.
