Over 200 Academic Advisors from around Virginia gathered at Northern Virginia Community College on October 28, 2016 for the NACADA Virginia Drive-In Conference. The theme for the day was “Guided Pathways to Academic Success” which corresponds with the new Virginia Community College System initiative that focuses on academic advising.

Several speakers addressed all the attendees including Dr. Scott Ralls, President for Northern Virginia Community College, Dr. Andrea Bonior, Georgetown University, who focused on “Stress, Health and Work-Life Balance: A No-Nonsense Approach” for the academic advisors, a NACADA update by Cynthia Pascal and Amy Nearman, Director of Dual Enrollment, Norther Virginia Community College.  In addition academic advisors from around the state presented concurrent sessions on topics related to academic advising.

Congratulations to a job well done by the planning committee led by Dr. Joann Credle and Dr. Evette Hyder-Davis co-chairs for the conference. For a video recap, please click the image below!
