We're back and looking forward to NACADA Annual!

We took the summer off... and then some. Sorry it's been a long time since you've heard from your Region 2 Committee through the blog and other forms of social media. Thankfully we are back and looking forward to seeing many of you at the Annual Conference this week in St. Louis! See the note below from your Region 2 Chair, Karen Lewis (also sent via email on 9/22/17).

Can't join us in St. Louis? No worries! Use the #NACADA17 hashtag to follow along on social media and look for live Tweets (https://twitter.com/NACADAr2) and Instagram posts (https://www.instagram.com/nacadar2/) from your committee and other region 2 members. We'll also publish wrap-up posts after the conference.

Whether we'll see you online or in St. Louis, Happy Fall and Happy Advising!

Hello, Region 2!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the NACADA annual conference in just a short time! As you prepare your conference agenda, there are a few events I wanted to bring to your attention:

Welcome Reception- Wednesday, October 11th from 7:00-8:30
When you enter the reception, you will notice signs for the various NACADA regions throughout the room. Look for the Region 2 sign and join fellow region members for refreshments and networking.

Region 2 Business Meeting- Thursday, October 12th from 4:30-5:30
We will wrap up our first full day of conferencing with Region Business Meetings. The Region 2 meeting will be held in room 221 of the Convention Center. Please join me for a brief overview of the Region’s accomplishments this year, followed by an opportunity to meet with your state/district/commonwealth liaison to learn about events taking place in your area.

Best of Region
Each year, Region conference attendees vote to determine the most outstanding presentation from the event. This year’s winner is Temple University’s Amanda Neuber. She will give her presentation, entitled, “Will you Accept This Rose?: Choosing Your Approach to Academic Advising,” on Friday, October 13th from 8:45-9:45 in room 115 of the Convention Center. If you didn’t get to see this wonderful presentation in Pittsburgh, now is your chance!

Additionally, I wanted to make you aware of two local professional development opportunities coming up in the region:

Virginia Drive-In Conference
Wednesday, November 8, 2017
Hampton University
Hampton, VA
Questions? Contact Morgan Russell at morgan.russell@hamptonu.edu.

Pennsylvania West Drive-In Conference
Thursday, May 17, 2018
Penn State Behrend
Erie, PA
Questions? Contact Carrie Egnosak at cae136@psu.edu.

See you in St. Louis!

Sincerely,

Karen Lewis
