Congrats to Our Newly Elected Association Leadership!

Please join us in congratulating Dawn, Karen, and Sean, all region 2 members who were recently elected to NACADA association leadership positions! Each shares a bit about their new position and goals below.

Dawn Knight
Advising Education Majors Chair
Hello Region 2!!! I am very excited about my NACADA leadership debut as Chair of the Advising Education Majors Commission. I am particularly interested in promoting communication and collaboration as we support each other as a region and as a profession. I also look forward to the many lessons I can learn from veteran leaders, in which our region is rich indeed. Since becoming involved with NACADA I have met so many great colleagues and I hope to get to know even more next month in Pittsburgh. Please reach out at dknight1@vt.edu if you want to meet up at the conference.

Karen Archambault
Vice President
I'm both excited and humbled to be stepping into the role of Vice President of the Association this fall and continuing my role on the Board of Directors. I've spent my entire career in Region 2 and have previously chaired a NJ drive in and the Regional Conference when it was in New Brunswick a few years ago. As VP, my primary role is to support and guide the NACADA Council, which is made up of the elected and appointed representatives of the Commissions and Interest Groups, Regional, and Administrative divisions. But my role as a member of the Board is to serve the best interests of all of the membership. Region 2 has been the home of so many NACADA leaders -- including several past presidents -- and I'm looking forward to being able to bring the best of Region 2 to the role and the best of NACADA to Region 2. If there's an issue you want to talk about, or if you just would like to connect, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can reach me at karchambault@rcbc.edu.

Sean Bridgen
Theory and Philosophy of Advising Chair
I am excited to return to NACADA leadership as the Chair of the Theory, Philosophy, and History of Advising Commission (TPHAC)! In the past, I have served on the Region 2 Steering Committee, and I co-chaired the 2008 Region 2 Conference the last time it was in Pittsburgh. I took a break from leadership while completing my doctorate, and I am looking forward to serving the organization in this new role. Region 2 has had a strong representation in the TPHAC since its inception, and I am honored to represent the region in the capacity of Chair. If any of you are interested in learning more about the commission, want to talk theory, or just want to say hello, please do not hesitate to contact me at sean.bridgen@psu.edu.
