Your Region Needs You: Volunteer @ the 2016 Region 2 Conference!

Are you looking for a way to give back? Do you feel the call of duty? Are you looking to practice what you encourage your students to do? Volunteering at the NACADA Region 2 conference is exactly what you need! We are currently (And always) seeking volunteers to help in a number of fun ways at this year’s conference. You do not need to have any prior experience volunteering or attending a NACADA conference to lend a hand!

But why volunteer? Volunteering is the easiest way to start being more involved in NACADA. You can volunteer for as little as 1 hour on one day or 2-3 hours each day! It’s all up to you. Once you sign up we will send you a volunteer form to complete where you’d tell us when you’re free, how long you free, and how often you’d like to volunteer. We will also be working to ensure that you do not miss any sessions or events that you are excited for.

And what exactly will I be doing? Volunteers will be utilized for a number of purposes, from helping with the check in tables to staffing different hospitality events. Most often volunteers will be needed in sessions to ensure that they run smoothly and to make sure session evaluations are completed. This year we will be adding “directions” volunteers- these volunteers will be stationed around the conference site helping people get from one session to another or find restrooms etc. Not a big fan of the outgoing positions? Not to worry we will also need help compiling information from sessions, counting donations, and other behind the scenes stuff!

Okay, you sold me- how do I sign up? Signing up to volunteer is the easiest thing you’ll do this week. Just e-mail your Volunteer Co- Chairs Matt Le Brasseur & Amma Addo at lebrasse@american.edu and mabelamma@gmail.com!

Thank you in advance for donating your valuable time!!
