“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” - Helen Keller
Planning an event of any magnitude isn't easy. And here, in the midst of being a mother of a 2 year old grown little man, wife of an IT project manager, a college football wife, a community college first year experience program coordinator with other duties as assigned, selling my first home and buying my second one, and writing my dissertation I took on co-chairing the BEST REGION EVER (that's Region 2, if you didn't know) 2016 Conference.
I sometimes go by Johnika Dreher, but you can just call me "a little crazy," "Jonny," or "JD" for short. I just remember the quote by Helen Keller during my journey over the last year as 2016 Co-Chair. Co-chairing NACADA is not just about me adding to my resume, it's about continuing the legacy of great local professional development. It's all about you! Your learning. Your engagement! Your best practices! Your connections!
I'm blessed with the opportunity to work with the most creative team around. They are pretty darn dynamic. They are holding down their roles and truly making the experience worthwhile because everyone does their part to ensure the success of the team. We are known as the DMV Senators. DMV is short for District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia as each has a close proximity to one another. Senators is a play on our location to the Nation's Capital. We are hardworking on facilitating one of the most memorable conferences for new, returning and veteran NACADA members. You are truly in for a treat.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, or just wanna chat and connect prior to the conference, please connect with me via Facebook (/johnikadreher), Twitter and Instagram (@2mrosSia2day). Until we speak again -JD
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am from Rutgers. I was wondering if you have a sense of how many people from the NY/NJ area are planning to attend.
Thanks,
