The NACADA Diversity Committee, an appointed committee of NACADA, members have
worked with the Annual and Regional Conference Planning committees to research
ways to engage the diverse constituents of the association. While working with
our Diversity Committee Liaison, Ms. Terri Baker, the committee came up an
engagement activity for the 2016 Conference. While you are at the 2016 Regional
Conference March 16-18, we encourage you to participate in our Photo
Scavenger Hunt.
The Photo Scavenger Hunt forms will be located at the Registration and Hospitality tables. Pick it up on your arrival at the conference if you want to participate.
To play, you'll need to get to know your fellow attendees, take photos, and post them to social media (or not, your choice). It will be like BINGO, with photos! Details will be provided when you arrive, and participants who complete their full board will receive extra raffle tickets for our Friday raffle drawing. If you're not interested in prizes, that's ok, but there are some great reasons to play along anyway:
- Conversation starter.
- You can network with fellow advising colleagues!
- Boost your social media reach.
- Help us trend! Use the hashtags #CapitolizingOnNACADA and #NACADAr2 on your posts. The more you post, the more we will spread the reach about our region and our dynamic association.
- Perfect opportunity to take selfies. (Really us-ies). Seriously, someone else has to be in the picture with you. It's about networking.
- Document proof that you were at the most monumental regional conference ever. Get it? Monument-al? Nations Capitol? Ah, I tried.
- Assessment. Yes! Your posts will be calculated by our diversity committee to determine the effectiveness of this activity. Because every objective needs assessment, right?!
- Win prizes. Don't forget, the individuals who complete their boards in full and submit them will have the opportunity to receive additional raffle tickets.
So, how do you play? You'll have to wait until you arrive at the conference! In addition to your Photo Scavenger Hunt, you will have plenty of great opportunities to engage with fellow advising colleagues. See you soon!
